All downed rivals are worth looting (sure, it’s not ideal behavior but this is the company that brought you Grand Theft Auto - this isn’t about being a total angel) but few are as worth it as raiding Billy Midnight’s defenseless body. It’s a flashy, showy pistol with gold-plated engravings and a black wooden grip with an ammo capacity of ten rounds, and can use Regular, High Velocity, Split Point, Express and Explosive pistol ammo. After successfully dueling Midnight in the mission "The Noblest of Men, And A Woman" this beauty can be all yours - although it can’t be customi
I am about to reveal to you why Red Dead Redemption 2 is the absolute greatest game of all time. Not of 2018, Full Record not of the decade, but of all time. Are you ready for this? Alright, here it comes. Brace yourselves. In this game, you can pat/pet dogs. Any game that includes beautiful puppers but does not let you make direct contact with the little guys is not worth your time. But any game that allows you to pet and play with those dogs immediately wins my vote for best game e
Never fear, for you can always pay the bounty at the post office and erase your problems. It's a simple way to ease the pressure whenever you're in the area again. But...if that's the case, why can't we do that for the town of Blackwa
As on any big game with an interconnected plot and multiple side missions, things can get pretty complicated. And just because I think Red Dead Redemption 2 is the best game to come out this year (take that God of War ), does not mean I can't recognize its flaws. Read on if you want to learn about the many plot holes and unanswered questions that RDR2 left hang
Just because the Van der Linde Gang is a group of outlaws, doesn't mean they're averse to usury. Leopold Strauss is the member of the Gang who gives loans to people with extremely high interest rates. He then sends Arthur to collect the de
If you want to make sure that the public stays in your favour, make sure that you unequip all weapons before striking up a conversation with an NPC. If you don’t, you may accidentally pull one out and the people within the game do not take too kindly to finding themselves in such a risky predicament. Citizens will either react in fear or anger and these reactions will remove the ability to continue conversation with them entirely. Heed my words. Unequip your weap
Though I love games that give players the ability to choose their own path, very few games truly nail the balance between good and bad choices. Sometimes the options are incredibly obvious as to which way they lean and sometimes they lead you in completely unpredictable directions. In Red Dead , the honor system was created in a way that makes it incredibly subjective and driven by immediate situations rather than a standard and universal law of morality. Consider the consequences of each action before making a decision. Sometimes ending someone’s life might actually be the honorable decis
Midnight’s pistol is the fancier of the two, but this pistol is crazy good. It has one of the highest rates of fire out of any weapon in Red Dead Redemption 2. If you need it, the gunsmith has you covered so don’t worry about it. In terms of damage, it can take someone out in two shots even from a fair distance which is super helpful in tight situations so it is definitely worth the investm
The Wright Brothers wouldn’t complete a successful flight until 1903 and as the first Red Dead Redemption is set at the turn of the century, that makes Arthur and the Wrights contemporaries. So while the sequel takes place in 1911, nearly a decade after Orville and Wilbur proved the world wrong, there’s plenty of fresh wreckage here commemorating their past failures. In a stranger side mission with Charles Kinnear, Arthur is introduced to the world of amateur aviation and all the associated risks. Charles won’t be as lucky as the Wright Brothers - you can see the crashed flying machine on your map before even starting this ill-fated missi
Obviously, a man made the Man-made Mutant as seen by its label, but we still don't know exactly who created this monstrosity. Sure, we can go to its location and marvel at its grotesqueness, but I want to know the story behind
Who made it? Why did they make it? Is it supposed to come to life one day? Is it meant to be art? The origin of the Man-made Mutant is one of the game's biggest unresolved mysteries. It looks like the world of Red Dead Redemption will never k
If you’re a Grand Theft Auto Online player (as much of the darn known universe has been over the years), you’ll know that, outlaw or not, you’ve got to work for your money. You can’t just boot the game up for the first time and rule the criminal underworld right from the start. It’s a rags to ill-gotten-riches st
I always question what the role of the Western genre, with all of its baggage, can be in this day and age. Regardless of the answer, so many parts of Red Dead Redemption 2 's story felt like a pale imitation of more celebrated examples of the genre. If it hasn't come already, there will come a time where this modern tale will have been told too many times. What will result is an irony where media is overstuffed with Westerns arguing that the Western shouldn't die out.
